Expected Delays To Via Rail Service In South Western Ontario November 21-22

VIA Rail Canada (VIA Rail) wishes to inform its clients that, on Saturday November 21 and Sunday November 22, delays will be encountered for trains in South Western Ontario due to work being done by the City of Toronto on infrastructures west of Union Station.

Saturday November 21

Trains 70, 71, 72, 73, 76, 78, 79 and 81, between Toronto-London-Windsor, will be rerouted and encounter delays of up to 60 minutes. Due to the rerouting, service will not be provided at Oakville Station. Passengers with tickets to or from Oakville may use the same boarding pass to board or detrain at the next station of Aldershot or Union Station in Toronto.

Trains 85 and 88, between Toronto and London, will be replaced by bus service.

The Amtrak train 97, from Toronto to New York, and operated by VIA Rail crew in Canada, will originate from the Mimico GO Station, in Etobicoke. Passengers departing Toronto on that train will be transported by bus from Union Station to the Mimico GO Station. As usual, this train will stop in Oakville.

The Amtrak train 98, from New York to Toronto, operated by VIA Rail crew in Canada, will terminate at the Mimico GO Station, in Etobicoke. Passengers travelling to Toronto on that train will be transported by bus from the Mimico GO Station to Union Station. As usual, this train will stop in Oakville.

Please note that trains 84 and 87 are not affected by the work block.

Sunday November 22

Trains 71, 72, 73, 75, 76, 78, 79 and 80, between Toronto-London-Windsor, will be rerouted and encounter delays of up to 60 minutes. Late Train Travel Credits will not be offered for delays incurred due to this work program. Notices will appear in web searches on viarail.ca for specified dates/trains as well as on the Boarding Pass and Itinerary/Receipt. Customers who booked prior to the publication of the notices will be contacted by email or telephone.
