Marshall Dane has been a fixture in and around Mississauga for years, but with the impending June release of his new CD "Running Stop Signs" it's his cover of Country legend John Michael Montgomery's "Love and Alcohol" that's got people talking.
Marshall Dane has a few Mississauga gigs in May, down in Port Credit at Roc'N'Doc's every Tuesday and up in Streetsville at The Franklin House on Friday, May 28th.There is no arguing that Marshall Dane has paid his dues locally. He's had a weekly gig (Tuesdays at 9pm) at Roc'N'Doc's for years, all the while performing at various venues around the GTA.
But when he won Country 95.3 FMs Big Break competition last year things really started to happen. Not the least of which was a trip down to Tennessee and song writing sessions with the likes of Kris Bergsnes (Tim McGraw, Emerson Drive and Diamond Rio), Dan Murph (Randy Travis, Sammy Kershaw) and Canadian superstar Paul Brandt.
The songs penned down in Nashville -- along with Marshall's cover of Country legend John Michael Montgomery's "Love and Alcohol" -- comprise his soon to be released debut album "Running Stop Signs."
And right around release time, Marshall will be at the 2010 MARTY Awards where he's nominated in the Emerging Performing Arts category.
With a Canadian tour to promote the new CD in the works, now would be an excellent time to catch him playing right here in Missy.
Roc'N'Doc's is located at 105 Lakeshore Rd. E. in Port Credit. The Franklin House is at 263 Queen St. S. in Streetsville.
