The Riverwood Conservancy (TRC) is offering free family fun time. Bring your children and enjoy an indoor program making bird food ornaments together then go outside to hang the treats on the trees along a woodland trail. Afterwards, warm up again with hot chocolate! Join us on Monday, December 20 and Tuesday, December 21 from 9:30-11:00 am at MacEwan Field Station.
Back by popular demand, the Hot Chocolate and Wild Birds program offers families an opportunity to spend time together creating bird treats and hand-feeding wild chickadees. Our chickadees are both friendly and hungry. Perhaps they will feed from your hand! This program is absolutely FREE for you due to the generous sponsorship provided by Scotts® Canada.. All you need to bring are warm clothes, warm hearts and adult supervision. Please pre-register by calling 905-279-5878 or emailing Info@TheRiverwoodConservancy.org
Riverwood is located north of the intersection of Burnhamthorpe Road West and The Credit Woodlands on the banks of the Credit River just a few kilometres west of the City Centre. Deer, over 150 species of birds, and other wildlife are frequently seen along our forest trails. Local heritage is well represented by MacEwan Barn, the 160-year-old MacEwan farmhouse (now the home of our Education Naturally and Exploration Naturally school programs) and the 91-year-old Chappell House.
