MISSISSAUGA, November 22, 2011 - Join Mayor Hazel McCallion, Members of Council and special guests to kick off the holiday season at "Light Up the Trees," the 2011 Tree Lighting Celebration on Saturday, November 26 at 7 p.m. at Mississauga Celebration Square.

"This year's celebration is going to be better than ever," said Finola Pearson, manager of events for Mississauga Celebration Square. "We've got an outstanding line-up of entertainment and the Square will be set aglow with the magic of the season."

What/Who: Mississauga Tree Lighting Celebration

· Official Ceremony with Mayor and Members of Council

· Master of Ceremonies - Global Toronto's Antony Robart

· Performances by Victoria Duffield and chart-toppers Neverest

When: Saturday, November 26, 2011, 7 - 10 p.m.

7 p.m. Official Ceremony/Light Up the Trees

7:30 p.m. Family activities and entertainment

8:30 p.m. Victoria Duffield performs

9:10 p.m. Neverest performs

Note: Due to the unseasonably warm weather that is expected, the Celebration Square ice rink will not be open during the Tree Lighting Celebration. The rink will be opened as soon as cooler weather arrives. Check the Mississauga Celebration Square Facebook and Twitter pages for updates on the ice rink.

Donate gently used children's skates to the ‘Got Skates?' program at the event. Skates will be used to help provide free skate lessons to local children. Visit www.gotskates.ca for program information.

Saturday also kicks off the Rotary Club of Mississauga's ‘Festival of Lights,' a holiday display of illuminated trees in the City Centre from November 26, 2011 to January 14, 2012.
