This fall the Mississauga Football League will take to the field for its 40th season.
Founded in 1971 by former Toronto Argonaut (1965-1972) Peter Martin and three others, the MFL offers full tackle football for youth from 9 to 17. Equipment is loaned to the players and no experience is required.
The league recently held their 40th Season Celebration at Crabby Joe's Steak House & Grill. The evening was attended by three of the four founding members, Adam Rita - GM of Football Operations for the Toronto Argos, Mayor Hazel McCallion and Andre Durie - a slot back with the Argos whose first coach was the current President of the MFL Mr. Jack Finley.
The cost for fall football with the MFL is $250 with practice starting in early August. The season runs until mid-November.
Players may register online at www.m-f-l.ca or at any of our in-person registration events -- listed on the MFL Web site.
