Mississauga, ON - The Steelheads looked to start 2013 with a win over a divisional opponent on home ice, and did so with a convincing 5-2 win over the visiting IceDogs. Niagara opened the scoring for the third time in as many games at the Hershey Centre this season when Steven Shipley beat Tyson Teichmann for his 20th goal of the season from the right circle at 18:03.

Mississauga, ON - The Steelheads returned to the Hershey Centre after a 12 day lay-off, looking to take advantage of a depleted Generals lineup. Mississauga recorded the first four shots of the game, but Oshawa struck first when Scott Sabourin beat Spencer Martin five hole from below the circle to give the Generals the lead. Scott Laughton extended the Generals lead to two on the power play less than a minute later.

Mississauga looked to add to their point total, unfortunately a Wolves team that lost in Niagara last night had different plans. The Steelheads minimized Sudbury's chances in the game, but could not generate enough offence throughout the afternoon to trouble the Wolves.
