Mississauga, ON - The Steelheads returned to the Hershey Centre after a 12 day lay-off, looking to take advantage of a depleted Generals lineup. Mississauga recorded the first four shots of the game, but Oshawa struck first when Scott Sabourin beat Spencer Martin five hole from below the circle to give the Generals the lead. Scott Laughton extended the Generals lead to two on the power play less than a minute later.

Mississauga allowed the opening goal early in the game against the Ice Dogs for the second consecutive game. Carter Verhaeghe scored his third goal of the season 1:10 into the first period. Mitchell Theoret tucked in a feed from OHL scoring leader Ryan Strome, before Brett Ritchie added a third on a puck that squeaked through Spencer Martin. Steven Shipley scored his 12th in the final minute. Niagara outshot Mississauga 23-5 in the period.

The 5"11, 200lb 1995 born Welsh joins the Steelheads from the Georgetown Raiders of the OJHL (Ontario Junior Hockey League). Welsh was acquired by the Steelheads on June 1, 2012 from Sarnia in exchange for a fifth-round pick.
