Festivals & Events Ontario uncovering Ontario’s must-attend award-winning music festivals

No matter your musical tastes, this province is offering up plenty of music festivals this summer. Festivals & Events Ontario (FEO) is thrilled to share an exciting line up of the best 17 music festivals beginning May 23rd. We invite you to enjoy musical talents from across Canada, from around the world and from your own home town right here in Ontario. These festivals represent a subset of FEO’s Top 100 festivals and events awards. With so many music festivals to choose from, we recommend you get your mojo working at more than just one this year!

2017 Ontario Music Festival Highlights include:

SING! The Toronto Vocal Arts Festival May 23 – May 28 (Toronto) www.singtoronto.com Canada’s Premiere A Cappella Festival, featuring free outdoor concerts, international headliners, educational workshops, emerging artists and more, downtown Toronto.

Orangeville Blues and Jazz Festival June 1 – June 4 (Orangeville) www.orangevillebluesandjazz.ca The 15th Annual award-winning Orangeville Blues and Jazz Festival recognized as “the best music fest northwest of Toronto” takes place from June 1st to June 4th, 2017 in beautiful downtown Orangeville.

Sound of Music Festival June 10 – June 18 (Burlington) www.soundofmusic.ca Awarded Level of Distinction by FEO, this festival is the largest local music event of the year features a combination of emerging artists, blasts from the past and current performers. A mix of free and ticketed shows continue all over town for 9 days! The Sound of Music Festival is also a FEO Achievement Award Winner for “Best Greening of a Festival” ($500,000 or more).

TD Ottawa Jazz Festival June 22 – July 2 (Ottawa) www.ottawajazzfestival.com Awarded Level of Distinction by FEO, the Ottawa Jazz Festival is the premier music event in downtown Ottawa and we are proud to be part of the continuing tradition of bringing jazz to the National Capital Region.

RBC Bluesfest July 6 – July 16 (Ottawa) www.ottawabluesfest.ca Awarded Level of Distinction by FEO, ranked by Billboard Magazine as one of the top-10 music festivals with their world-award winning 10-day, multi-stage extravaganza.

Stewart Park Festival July 14 – July 16 (Perth) www.stewartparkfestival.com 3 free days of music in the park! Workshops, food and artisan vendors, licenced Festival Patio, downtown specials, After Hours Venues with more music, 2 stages in the park. For the whole family!

Hillside Festival July 14 – July 16 (Guelph) www.hillsidefestival.ca Awarded Level of Distinction by FEO, the Hillside Festival is a three-day, five-stage event with a broad artistic vision that emphasizes diversity: of culture, of musical heritage and style, of age, geography and influence. The Hillside Festival is also a FEO Achievement Award Winner for “Best Volunteer Program”.

Lighthouse Blues Festival July 14 – July 16 (Kincardine) www.lighthousebluesfest.ca The Lighthouse Blues Festival returns to the shores of Lake Huron July 14, 15 and 16, 2017 in Kincardine ON. Three days of blues music, family fun in a beautiful lakeside setting!

Festival of Sound July 21 – Aug 13 (Parry Sound) www.festivalofthesound.ca Canada’s premiere summer classical music event! Three weeks of classical, jazz, and chamber music by renowned artists – concerts, cruises, and films on beautiful Georgian Bay. The Festival of Sound is also a FEO Achievement Award Winner for “Best Fundraising Idea”.

Ottawa International Chamber Music Festival July 22 – Aug 4 (Ottawa) www.chamberfest.com Awarded Level of Distinction by FEO, the world’s largest chamber music festival presents early music, core repertoire, contemporary, and fringe in historic churches and landmark venues across downtown Ottawa.

Collingwood Elvis Festival July 28 – July 30 (Collingwood) www.collingwoodelvisfestival.com The largest event of its kind in the world. A tourist event celebrating Elvis Presley, offering something for all ages, including concerts, parade, gospel worship service, competitions, and vendors.

TD Niagara Jazz Festival July 28 – July 30 (St. Catharines and N.O.T,L) www.niagarajazzfestival.com A FEO Achievement Award Winner for “Best New Festival”, the TD Niagara Jazz Festival is a 3 day jazz festival that inspires educates and develops future jazz audiences, combining live jazz with a Niagara experience – food, wine, culture + natural wonders.

Harbourfest Aug 4 – Aug 6 (Kenora) www.harbourfest.ca Harbourfest is a festival is for families for both children and adults. We have the KidsZone, Antique Boat Parade, CarFest, Pyro Musical Fireworks and 3 nights of concerts.

TD Kitchener Blues Festival Aug 10 – Aug 13 (Kitchener) www.kitchenerbluesfestival.com One of Canada’s biggest FREE Blues Festivals – 4 day, multi stages in downtown Kitchener – Best of international, national and regional Blues. Workshops, arts exhibit, food and craft vendors.

Havelock Country Jamboree Aug 17 – Aug 20 (Havelock) www.havelockjamboree.com Awarded Level of Distinction by FEO, the 28th Annual Havelock Country Jamboree is Canada’s largest live Country Music and Camping Festival! Our show features over 25 entertainers performing on twin stages over a 4 day period.

Jazz Sudbury Festival Sept 6 – Sept 10 (Sudbury) www.jazzsudbury.ca Northern Ontario’s premiere destination for live jazz. Jazz Sudbury hosts its annual music festival every September on the beautiful shores of Ramsey Lake and throughout multiple downtown venues.

Canada’s Only Guitar Trail Sept 9 (Blue Mountain) www.bluemountainvillage.ca A mountain of music will carry you along the one-of-a-kind Guitar Trail. Follow the acoustic vibe and discover over 20 artists throughout the Village, up & down the mountain hiking trails.
