Visual Arts Mississauga (VAM) at Riverwood welcomes art and nature lovers to its 28th annual Art in the Park on Sunday, September 16, 2018.

Art in the Park will feature over 45 artist vendors, arts activities, live entertainment and food in the beauty of Riverwood Park. Artists and artisans will show and sell their original works including paintings, jewelry, textiles, ceramics, clothing and more! Art in the Park provides an incredible opportunity for the general public to purchase one-of-a-kind items directly from artists and artisans. Art in the Park will run from 10 am until 4 pm at Riverwood located at 4170 Riverwood Park Lane in Mississauga.

“I am so excited for this year’s Art in the Park event,” explains VAM Executive Director Annis Karpenko. “We have a stellar roster of painters, jewellery makers, potters, photographers, fibre artists, metal and wood workers from the Peel Region and beyond! Come be inspired, hear beautiful music, have some food and wander around the magnificent MacEwan Terrace Garden. We look forward to welcoming you to Art in the Park 2018!”

Art in the Park will feature live musical performances sponsored by Lorne Park Dental Associates. Join VAM for performances by Clark Schlesinger at 10:30 am, LatinTrain at 12:45 pm and Zaynab Wilson at 2:30 pm.

NEW ACTIVITY! VAM is pleased to offer a free Art-Making Activity sponsored by Meridian at this year’s event. This activity will be guided by VAM’s professional Artist Instructors. Bring your old t-shirts and learn to create artistic prints on recyclable materials.

VAM is also pleased to showcase the talents of emerging youth artist Ashly Batista at the Youth Art Installation sponsored by TD Bank. This program creates a platform for contemporary youth artists to share their work with the community in the historical MacEwan House. All are welcome to explore this interactive installation and meet the artist.
