The Living Arts Centre is excited to present another season of ART BATTLE!

What is Art Battle?

Art Battle is live competitive painting. Painters create the best work they can in 20 minutes, while audience members watch the creative process up close. At the end of the round, the audience votes for their favourite painting and can bid in a silent auction to take the work home. It’s painting at its most exciting!

Mayor Crombie Marks Historic City-Building Investment in Downtown Core

Rogers Real Estate Development Ltd announced a $1.5 billion planned development in Downtown Mississauga. The development is M City – a 10-tower, 15-acre, 4.3 million sq. ft. community. It is to include over two-acres of public parkland and has been inspired by the City of Mississauga’s own Downtown21 Master Plan. The following are remarks by Mayor Bonnie Crombie made during today’s announcement:

DJ Jazzy Jeff Headlines SoundBites on Mississauga Celebration Square

It’s not every weekend DJ Jazzy Jeff performs on Mississauga Celebration Square but lucky for Square visitors, it’s happening next Saturday, making the Square a summer bucket list destination that can’t be missed this Labour Day long weekend.

The third annual SoundBites festival and AwesTRUCK Food Truck Awards starts at 5 p.m. with live preshow entertainment. The food truck awards will be presented throughout the night by event hosts James Cunningham, of Food Network Canada’s Eat St. and Ross Hull, Weekend Meteorologist, Global News Toronto.

More than 30,000 visitors are expected to follow their noses to the tasty food truck eats on the Square. The best food truck creations from all over the country are voted on by the public and awarded throughout the night as part of the AwesTRUCK Food Truck Awards.

In addition to the awards and more than 25 gourmet food trucks, there is also a spectacular free concert featuring the one and only DJ Jazzy Jeff starting at 10 p.m.

Not ready for the evening to end? No problem. Weather permitting; the event will close with a spectacular fireworks finale starting at 11 p.m.
