Square One Opening Signals Change on Horizon for Canada’s Premier Personalized Gift Store

Take your gift giving to the next level! Things Engraved, Canada’s largest gifting company, is set to open a new location at Square One Shopping Centre in Mississauga on October 12, 2018. The official Grand Opening party with a theme of Cocktail Culture will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 13. As the country’s premier personalized gift store chain, the revamped store design marks a turning point for the Kitchener-based retailer.

“We’re a great Canadian success story, and it’s important that we support our local communities, so sourcing in Canada and contributing to the success of our neighbours is very important to us; it’s part of our DNA. Though we operate in every province across the country, each of our stores should feel like a local shop, complete with locally-made products.” – Shawn Brock, CEO, Things Engraved

CEO Shawn Brock anticipates a change in strategy will lead the company into a more personal, more unique future. “We’ve been in business since 1982, but that doesn’t mean we can’t keep pace with today’s consumer. Our new store design is all about a better shopping experience for our customers, one that makes it very easy to find – and personalize – the perfect gift.”

As one of Canada’s top-ranked shopping centres, Square One provides an ideal environment for a bold reintroduction. The new store will feature distinctive branding elements that reinforce the benefits of gift giving, as well as the emotional experience of each step in the process, from first thought to afterthought. Festivities at the Grand Opening party will include music, balloons, giveaways and mocktails for people of all ages. On Sunday, shoppers have the chance to meet and greet a featured local artisan as part of the company’s new Locally Made Pop-Up Shop program.

In keeping with its community values, selected Things Engraved locations will feature a local craft artisan’s gift products alongside the company’s normal gift offerings. “The main goal of the program is to create a bridge between local Canadian makers and the broader national community that Things Engraved reaches,”elaborates Brock. In addition to Square One, Things Engraved looks forward to opening its second new store later this year, slated for McAllister Place in Saint John, New Brunswick.
